“KHOJ”- the search of a man for his woman. Ravi Kapoor (Rishi Kapoor)had to leave his beautiful, beloved, young wife all alone in the mysterious mountains of Nepal and attend a business conference. But when he returned to join his wife on their holiday- she was missing! And thus begins Ravi’s ‘Khoj’- a ‘Khoj’ that taken him through ups and downs, highs and lows, through pain, anxiety, intrigue and even hysteria which drives him to near insanity! On the one hand we have Inspector Balbir (Naseeruddin Shah), a loveable, unconventional, practical, cool, C.I.D. Officer, who is entrusted with the task of solving the mystery of the missing wife Anita (Kimi Katekar). But Ravi refuses! Ravi refuses to accept Anita as his wife. He insists that she is a stranger, an imposter and not Mrs. Anita Ravi Kapoor. Balbir and Anthony believe that Ravi’s reaction is a part of the marital conflict between him and Anita, and they ask Ravi to forgive Anita, they gently persuade Ravi to admit Anita as his wife and to accept her back. Anita knows everything about Ravi- their marriage date, their pet dog coco, the business, the house, the secret place where the keys are kept and even her passport and driving license identifying her as Mrs. Anita Ravi Kapoor. But Ravi still insists and sticks to his statement ‘She is not my wife’. Then, there is Mrs. Rana (Sudha Shivpuri), a nosey neighbour, who proclaims Anita as Mrs. Kapoor; there is Dr. Saxena (Om Shivpuri), the veterinarian treating coco, who adds further proof to the identification of Mrs. Kapoor. And Bobby Singh (Satish Shah), the dhabhe wala, his wife Gulabo (Beena) and constable Dobby Singh (Satish Shah), who all address her and refer to her as Mrs. Kapoor. But Mr. Kapoor still insists, ‘she is not my wife’. And then Anthony and Anita show their true colours- having cornered Ravi, they now threaten him to sign the papers to transfer all his wife’s wealth to their name. Money! The Devil’s own invitation cards to the world of sins! It is at this stage that Ravi tells Balbir to fetch his daughter, Geeta ( Baby Tabassum) who will definiteky not make a mistake in identifying her own mother. But to Ravi’s dismay Anthony, as a priest, convinces Balbir to allow him to fetch the child and all Hell breaks loose for Ravi.

 

Will Anthony kill Ravi’s child- the prime witness in this strange case? Will Ravi be able to save her prove himself right? Will Inspector Balbir be able to solve this mystery?.... will the real Mrs. Anita Ravi Kapoor please stand up and answer….?
